This trauma made her an repress all of her emotions as she tried to comprehend what happened to her and her sisters. As a result, she became a cold and nearly emotionless woman as she grew up in the care of her family's old allies, the Haraldsen royal family of Monarchia, who adopted her and raised her as their own. But though she cared for her new family, a trait inherited from her mother gave her more pain as she watched her adoptive family wither and die to age while she remained a young woman. She was biologically immortal and she also possessed magic. Elise, now Queen of the United Kingdom of Mimar, Monarchia's successor state, wages war against Salem to protect Remnant from being enslaved or destroyed by the witch.
