A close brush with death focuses the mind on the meaning of life. Many of these poems reflect on insights gleaned during recuperation. The rest are fun.

In a quiet little town on the edge of Washington, we find Cinquain Willis, a hard working journalist for the Drendramee Anomaly newspaper. Cinquain, or 'Cin' for short, writes about the common occurrences of Drendramee most of the time, and is fairly well known in Drendramee. One morning she finds herself solving a murder that came out of nowhere. One by one, citizens drop like flies without a obvious culprit. The little town may be a charming place, but many things lurk beneath the surface, and it's up to Cin and her photographer friend Hailey to discover the true anomaly of Drendramee.

A project I'm doing with a couple of very talented Poets here on Watty. Originally named 99 Poem Challenge, but since I'm an idiot when it comes to poetry, I've decided to add a bit of a manual. By the end of this project, in here, you will find poetry in 99 different forms and a short explanation of what each style is, a Poetry for Dummies version. Enjoy.

"His Birth" is an Adelaide Crapsey style cinquain (five line poem). The title is incorporated as a sort of sixth line to give the poem a certain meaning. For more on Cinquain search "Adelaide Crapsey" cinquin. In this poem "His Birth" gives the poem a religious context and the reader selects the person born to fill the meaning of the poem according to their religious outlook. From a romantic point of view this poem could be about a spouse, romantic partner or anyone of importance to the reader.

This is my ten-form poetry submission to the first annual ATTYS competition. All ten poems are related to the process of coming to terms with different life situations: a miscarriage, the death of a loved one in the Vietnam war; a political abduction; the ex-pat life; a battered wife; betrayal; Alzheimer's Disease; drought; isolation; a mother/daughter relationship. Thank you for reading my submission. I hope these poems "speak" to you! This is a collection of poetry I have written. I really hope you enjoy it! With each poem, I will post a photo of my own that I think best fits with the poem I have written. I will also write a description below it if I have one. If I don't have a description for one, I will put "self interpret." (If you do interpret one I'd love to know what you got out of it!) Or I may write my description and put "self interpret." I moved this book from my first account.

In my opinion, poetry is one of the most beautiful gifts that can be received or given. Poetry can be several different things. It can be used as an escape, a hobby, enjoyment, a present, or many other things. Poetry can save a life, and Poetry has saved mine on several occasions. This is my poetry.
