Romance has already been written out for every generation and dominates almost every story. The tales of forbidden love, or an unlikely pair, or even unconventional pairings have previously been fleshed out and their stories been told. Lucas Stradivari's life has been preset, his story layed out. At times he wonders if he'll ever have his own love story. Enter Nero Connais, a little more than an unconventional love story.

Now, when I say "perfect", I'm talking about a result of the greatest good not only for me, but for all of humanity, the planet and the universe. This is way beyond my petty desires for how I would like everything to turn out.

Despite all mentioned, he also has to struggle with being a black man in America, and as the civil rights movement nears, so does his heart to its ideals.
