Amidst the chaos of the ongoing resistance, the flicker of a forbidden, growing attraction blossoms between them. Though their fight for survival never ceases, they slowly begin to realize that perhaps love-once thought impossible in such a broken world-might just be the thing they need most to keep going. In a relationship forged in the heat of battle, Chell and Alyx learn that even in the darkest of times, hope, trust, and love can be the most powerful weapons they possess. But with the Combine closing in, they must confront the most dangerous challenge of all: facing a future together in a city where nothing is safe, and everything is at risk.

If you have no idea about HL2 universe, please do some background research before reading; things can otherwise get confusing and unclear! In the next chapters the story might include more and more violence, so be aware. Also, when I talk about the reader, I use the pronoun "she/her", since in the original role play the citizen was female. However, the reader can be of any gender.
