I wish he could see how I see him. To see how beautiful he is. His smile is brighter than any star I've seen.
"You're an idiot," I breathed.
"What?"
My hands moved faster than my mind could berate them, leaving me powerless to the pull, to the comfort of his soft hands in mine.
"I don't need the moon, or the stars, or anything else..." the words finally escaping their imprisonment of my mind.
"I just need you. All of you."

Lawrence finds this trip to be nothing more than a chore, an exhausting and unfair task for his family's hotel empire. He didn't even want to be in Kansas to begin with, he didn't want to leave his friends, his life, his freedom... for this.
Carter is always on the move, helping the town, making sure everything is taken care of, just finding tasks to occupy his mind. Being the youngest among his town has its perks, after all. Of course, there are times he can settle and relax... before he arrived.
