"You must die to enter." The hooded gatekeeper tells me as he hands me a silver cup. "Drink from the chalice and you will enter the city of the dead." Freya lives in the calm peaceful village of Aston, but longs for something more, for an adventure. Her life is very uneventful until her parents are kidnapped by thugs and taken to Mortus, the city of the dead, a place far in the mountains that is so silent and dark that they say only the dead roam there. All who have traveled there have never returned except an old man who spins tales of danger and dark magic. Despite the danger Freya travels up the mountain, determined to save her parents at all costs. As she makes her journey to the city of the dead, Freya wonders if there is any chance that she and her family will make it out alive.

This is a short story about a zombie apocalypse, and the immune who have found a way to survive. " I looked out at the dying land with a sense of dread. My heart and mind felt heavy. There was nothing living within a ten mile radius of the city. The infected the travelers brought in made sure of it. No plants, no wild animals, and no running water anywhere close. There was nothing that could survive, well almost nothing. Everyone within the city limits was immune. Their white hair and blue eyes marked them as mutated humans. Even the pets had been made immune. Immunity wasn't easy to come by, 80% died during the transition. But it was an easy choice to make, you were more likely to die of starvation, dehydration, murder, or being infected, outside the city limits. You were denied access to the city if you choose to not take the cure. If you died during the transition, your body didn't go to waste: it was used as bait to lure in more infected. Lauren, the only known survivor of the bite wanted to fix our broken world. So we collected those who had been lost, leading them back to the city. Burning the bodies in the center, ridding the world of more and more of the sick. It was tiring work, but it had to be done if things were to return to some sense of normalcy."

**In Necropolis, every afterlife citizen is dead, including Tyryn. While each soul is seeking to carve a path towards redemption at second chances, the girl who still bleeds crimson in the city of the dead is searching for answers to her very existence. ** When Tyryn and her rival are tasked with working together in search of a relic that will unite the four realms of Necropolis, Tyryn is ready to carry Nikos on her shoulders if it means returning to the realm of the living. Especially, if it can help her find the answers she's been searching for. If she is lucky, maybe Nikos will get that second death she's been silently hoping for, finally ridding herself of his presence. Because dying once and landing in Necropolis is never good. But dying twice means you never come back. There is only one problem...well maybe two. One-Tyryn needs Nikos to find the relic. Two-Killing, while a Necropolis citizen, means forfeiting your soul. Death makes us appreciate life to the fullest. But what if death was something to be appreciated too? I wrote this during college for a writing class and it remains one of my favorite works. I hope to either include in it a collection of short stories or develop it further into a full novel. Thank you for taking the time to look at my story.

Annabelle Cambell is a medical student with hopes of becoming a doctor one day. But when she is presented with an opportunity to help pay for her medical schooling and her families financial struggles, she sets off on an exhibition to Hamunaptra, The City of the Dead, with her childhood friends, Isaac, Bernard, and David. As the standing doctor in this exhibition, she soon realizes that there are worst things than death. Here you will follow the "American's" perspective and the horrors faced when being hunted by the infamous mummy, Imhotep. This is a fanfiction, meaning that all events and occurrences in this book are all fictional and all are part of my imagination. Any resemblance to actual life events and people, living or dead, are all purely coincidence. I am not, in any way, affiliated to The Mummy Franchise or Universal Studios so I do not own the characters mentioned in my fanfiction. I only own the original character of Annabelle Cambell. This fanfic was inspired by the movie The Mummy.
