Abu Hasan Muhammed Jahangir
Visionary Entrepreneur and Community Advocate
Born in Jamalpur, Bangladesh, just before the country's independence in 1971, Abu Hasan Muhammed Jahangir-widely known as Abu Jahangir-grew up in a family rooted in public service and national contribution. His father, Dr. Md Obaidul Haque, served as a medical officer in the refugee camps during the Liberation War, while his maternal grandfather was a royal secretary under the Maharaja of Koch Bihar.
Jahangir's early education took him across towns in Mymensingh, Kishoreganj, and Jamalpur. He later completed his MBA at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. A passionate entrepreneur, he launched Buyer Link Ltd. in the early '90s and played a key role in several industrial ventures in Bangladesh's garment and textile sectors, contributing to industry diversification and policy discussions despite political and financial challenges.
In 2019, he shifted focus to Canada, founding Pacific Fraser Bay Sourcing Inc. and introducing the Canadian apparel brand BLAZE. He expanded into agriculture and automotive services while building bridges between Canadian businesses and Asian manufacturers.
Committed to civic life, Jahangir serves on multiple advisory boards, including the City of Richmond and Richmond Multicultural Community Services. In Vancouver Island, particularly in Port Alberni, he has actively promoted economic revitalization and cultural engagement. As General Secretary of the FIFA 2026 Alberni Valley Committee, he has contributed to legacy initiatives involving local youth, schools, and civic leaders.
Through decades of professional resilience-from business setbacks to health challenges-Abu Jahangir has demonstrated leadership, adaptability, and community spirit across two continents. His journey is not just one of entrepreneurship, but of purpose-driven impact.
