"James Reeb became nationally known as a rightful martyr to the Civil Rights Movement when he made the ultimate sacrifice answering Dr Martin Luther King Jr. 's call for clergy in the revolutionary march from Selma to Montgomery. Shortly after his spring 1965 march, the social rights leader hailed Reeb a friend, an ally, but above all "a shining example of manhood at its best." James Reeb was a renowned religious instructor priding himself in uplifting impoverished black communities. Despite my paper being months old from the last school year, this is the right time to share to America and the world about one of the most influential civil rights leaders who paid the ultimate sacrifice to the cause.

Hello wonderful readers! This is my first story up on this site and i hope you enjoy it!This is an AU during the 1950s civil rights era. Alfred F. Jones, southern gentleman and ready to start college up in the city that never sleeps. Accompanying his uncle to live with him in a flat, he has it pretty good. Going to get a part time job, get through college and, maybe, a little romance. But these are dangerous times to live in. As the African American community starts to demand the rights they deserve, many are taking matters into their own hands. The civil right movement is not only the pursuit of rights that people of all races should have equally, but the right to love who you want to love. Sadly, the public doesn't know of certain people who are afraid to love. He stumbles into a cafe as he revels in his mind about everything. That is until he hears the soft and low sound of a cello player. Matthew Williams, following his dream to be a musician, works in his brother's small french cafe. Playing his cello with the rest of the hired band members, his eye catches a stranger walk in and sit down. He was certainly not a regular or one of the old couples that came in. He seems interesting, maybe he should talk to him, buy him a coffee. He has really nice eyes, sky blue eyes. Maybe later.

African-American Rosa Parks' refusal to give up her seat on the bus to a white man led to her arrest and then a boycott of the buses. The Black Montgomery Bus Boycott launched the Civil Rights Movement in 1955. One driving force behind this movement was the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). Its charismatic leader, a Baptist preacher from Atlanta named Martin Luther King, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. His activist opponents found the dreamer, who had a doctorate, too soft and sought salvation in radicalization. We now know that King was more effective than his antagonists. He appeared soft to the world, but had a diamond hardness.

Any shorts or snippets pertaining to my 1960s story concept set in a small farming town in Kansas called Gibson. This story is a continuation following the events of The Damned. The story follows Mordechai Toltzer, the son of Palestinian and German refugees living in New York. Having felt out of place and unsure of his own identity for years, Mordechai has been on the move throughout the US, trying to work on his novel ideas and find a place to settle, when he lands a job with the a local newspaper in a tiny farming community in middle of nowhere Kansas. Trouble begins shortly after he arrives when an African-American resident in the town is arrested for crimes involving monetary fraud and his twin daughters and their business come under fire in the wake of the scandal. After having their icecream parlor burned and ransacked, whispers stir up that point the blame at "Kraut Town," a subset of the community consisting of German farmers, mostly former POWs who stayed in the US to work after the war, and one man in particular, former SD officer, Chalmar Stromann, who came to the town along with Florian Brandt to aid in translation and communication for the former POWs. Mordechai suspects that Herr Stromann, as suspect as he is, is just being used as an easy scapegoat and that the criminals are "closer to home" than the townsfolk want to admit, Klan sympathizers embedded in their leadership and waiting for the right opportunity to target the minorities in town. Mordechai teams up with Stromann, Brandt, and April Howzer (one of the twins) to begin digging into the town's history and secrets to unearth the true culprits. Main themes in the story follow Mordechai's self-discovery, Chalmar's 20-year-late redemption arc following the events of The Damned, fighting the hard fight, and the capacity of people to change.

Tomas continued to look back at the door as he stormed down the sidewalk of his home, his suitcase clacking against the pavement. There were no words to describe how he felt. He just knew he was hurting. Tomas often bickered with his dad, but it had never gotten to the extent it did just a few seconds earlier. He had just had an argument with his father, and his father gave him an ultimatum: leave home or leave his best friend. Tomas couldn't grasp the concept of him supposedly hating someone because of the color of their skin color or where they came from, so he chose his friend. Tomas shot another glance at the door secretly hoping his dad would walk out and apologize. The pathway from his home wasn't long, but the walk felt interminable. Even though it hurt Tomas to leave his home, he didn't regret the decision he had made.

All Ariel's life she was taught that blacks and whites are not the same that whites were better than blacks. Ariel never paid to much attention to the way things were between the two races until she met Michael. Ariel's life changes after she meets Michael. Love is torn, people are hurt and relationships are broken through the fight of equality. This story takes place around the 50s-60s. I hope you all understand the way thing were back then and won't get offended by any type of racial slur used. I am not racist at all. Ariel kind of represents me I guess not that I've been in love but that if someone loves someone of the separate race they should be aloud to be with them. I hope you guys are as excited as I am about this story. I'm going to do some more research about the civil rights movements and about how things were back then before i start writing also. Love you guys! Hope you like it:)
