"Only twenty minutes to sleep,
but you dream of some epiphany."
Ariella Coyne has never known a world with open skies.
Born aboard a space station called the Ark, she's spent her entire life in orbit. Imprisoned at just ten years old for a crime she didn't commit, she is forced to grow up as one of the Ark's youngest juvenile offenders, carrying a sentence she never deserved. Now, a year later, she and the other ninety-nine delinquent criminals are being sent to the ground in a desperate experiment to see if Earth is survivable.
Shy and guarded, Ariella keeps to herself at first. Trust doesn't come easily when you've been betrayed by your own family. But slowly, she begins to open up, first to Bellamy Blake, the fierce stowaway who committed an unforgivable crime to protect his sister, and then to Jasper Jordan, the goggle-wearing optimist whose humor masks his fear.
On the ground, the hundred are forced to build a camp from nothing-no rules, no adults, no second chances. Power struggles erupt. Loyalties fracture. But leadership disputes are the least of their problems, because the radiation-scarred planet they've been sent to reclaim isn't empty.
And Earth has been waiting for them.
