One night, two days before Clary&Jace's anniversary, Clary comes to the institute, only to see that Jace is cheating on her. She leaves the institute, thinking she will never come back. She joins a strong group of shadow hunters and ends up becoming the leader. And 10 years after she left, they get a phone call from the New York institute, saying, they need help. And Clary, remembering the person who she used to be before she knew she was a Shadowhunter, decided to do one last favor to her old friends.

Lysa Branwell, younger sister to Lydia Branwell, has bee living and training at the New York institute since she was 10. This is the place that started it all for Lysa, it's where she met her best friend and her parabatai Izzy as well as a guy who is like a big brother to her Jace, it is also where she met her soulmate Alec. Deep down Lysa knew that she was meant for bigger and better things with the Lightwoods who treated her like family more than her own did.
