Except I'm not a ghost. I've been reincarnated as Emily Douglas Starr, the forgotten heroine of a dusty old novel I once loved. Only... this isn't the exact story I remember. The shadows feel darker, the moonlight sings to me, and my words hold a strange kind of power. This time, I'm not just going to survive. I'm going to write my own ending. A tale of dreams, destiny, and one girl who refuses to fade quietly into the margins.

The Bear is a fairy tale collected by Andrew Lang in The Grey Fairy Book. It is Aarne-Thompson classification system type 510B, unnatural love. Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery (published as L. M. Montgomery). Written for all ages, it has been considered a classic children's novel since the mid-20th century. Set in the late 19th century, the novel recounts the adventures of an 11-year-old orphan girl Anne Shirley, sent by mistake to two middle-aged siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had originally intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm in the fictional town of Avonlea in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The novel recounts how Anne makes her way through life with the Cuthbert's, in school, and within the town.

the poem is based on a boy who climbs a cherry tree and imagines that he is seeing abroad lands.
