Clove never knew her parents. All she knows is her trainer Favian who sometimes doubles as her dad, and sometimes falls far short of looking out for her. In district 2 they train you not to be heartless, but to ignore your heart. After years of solitude with Favian her only family Clove has mastered this skill almost as well as she's mastered knife throwing. When new training partners for the year are assigned the day after the 73rd reaping, a mistake is made. Clove ends up partnered in the wrong age category with next years best contender for the crown: Cato Hadley. Everyone is jealous but Clove has bigger problems to deal with than her annoying partner. She has a secret that she's kept hidden for years and only Cato can save her from herself.

The ruthless arrogant Careers from District 2, who trained for years until their fates were sealed in the 74th Hunger Games. Forced together by the need to train in order to bring honor to their district, they find themselves slipping in and out of friendship and maybe something more. The girl who never misses meets the monstrous boy lunging forward to volunteer.

Sequel to She Saved Me Clove and Cato. They used to be best friends. But that changed 2 years ago when Cato was forced to move to District 1. They slowly stopped talking, all of it ending when Cato admitted to Clove that he had been forced to move on. That was the end of them, until the day that Cato Hadley walked of that train and right back into Clove's thoughts. Cato and Clove are the property of Suzanne Collins, along with Enobaria, Brutus, the concept of a PeaceKeeper, President Snow, Glimmer and Marvel. Seventy-four years has been long enough. The way of the infamous Hunger Games has been altered. No longer is every Gamemaker out to devise the worst means of torture and death for every tribute. No longer are the people of Panem outwardly tolerant of President Snow's murderous actions. Under the facade of a normal group of Gamemakers, several rebellious citizens have begun an experiment which, if it succeeds, will make use of technology both to rescue the tributes before they are dead and then deposit the brainwashed children back in time. They have to try it. No one knows what horrors future Hunger Games may bring, and the desperate rebels are willing to try anything. Meanwhile, in the mountainous regions of District 2, Cato Hadley and Clove Kentwell have trained their whole lives for the Games. Nevertheless, their ambitions change when they, without meaning to, find themselves in the Games together. They are both determined to win. But if they don't, what will happen to them? The brainwashed tributes who land in New York City know nothing of who they are or where they are from. They do not remember Panem, or the Games, or even their own names. just my OPINION on reasons clato is a better ship than glato.

I swear the story is better than the description. Clove is a sixteen year old girl that makes the long move from England to Los Angeles CA, where she is accepted to the school for the talented: Panem Boarding School. There, she is met with a shocking culture change, and a brand new group of friends. Will she soften her normal tough, and sarcastic exterior? Or will she keep building her walls high and wide to avoid getting hurt once more? Her choice seems to be quite clear at first, but a certain blond-haired blue-eyed boy seems to throw a wrench in her plan. Cato Hadley. //P.S.
