Watch as our reformed protagonist, Lucas Haul, gets hurtled into his new environment, adjusts to his shiny plastic apparent way of life and encounters his first roadblock in returning Nowhere into a place of natural somewhere. It always seemed to be raining in the spring. Warm in the summer but never warm enough. The fall begins to chill and make the leaves fall. And winter has the bitter cold that keeps you inside. Here in this quiet town, there was never much excitement. The local high school, however, was filled to the brim with odd situations. (The Earthbound characters belong to Nintendo.) Cozy up for a Christmas tale. A tale of magic, romance, and the quest for balance. In this world, there are forces of light and darkness; Forces like Santa and the maleficent Krampus. As humanity prepares for snuggles and festivity, Krampus plots with Grýla, the wicked frost deity. They team up to end the human race on Christmas Eve, but the Universe still has one last trick up its sleeve. * * * * Lucas Marcus, a 'regular' teenage boy, is led by a series of strange events to discover his magical abilities and--to his surprise--the magical powers of his best friend, Clyde Xavier, and mysterious crush, Fiona. The three have been chosen to join the Protectors of Balance; a taskforce with the responsibility of maintaining order between Light and Dark Forces. Together, they must journey on a mission to challenge Krampus and his allies, visiting Christmas destinations like the North Pole in the process. Although, feelings and deadlines only make their quest more complicated. Coupled with furious yetis, shadow elves, a runaway reindeer, and a strange mega-corporation bent on capturing the supernatural...the Protectors of Balance are in for a not so Merry Xmas.
