I ran and ran and ran until I got tired, but then I started running again. The grass crashing under my black heels and the wind groping me as I ran with all my mite. I never wanted to stop. I never wanted to give up. I never wanted any of this. i never wanted this new life. I miss everything. But I all I need now is blood. And strong blood to get me through this. I can feel him chasing me. I can feel him getting closer and closer until the breath is coming on my naked back. I NEED BLOOD!! Now!!

Lost in the Wilderness: A Tale of Dinosaurs and Love" is an exhilarating adventure novel set in a dense forest where a groundbreaking scientific experiment goes awry, unleashing dinosaurs into the wild. This is a short story I wrote for a recent competition. We were all asked to write something on the theme or comfort. I chose to focus on the comfort humans can feel from dwelling on past happy memories. The artwork was done by 42Ly, my visual artist partner whom I worked with on the competition. In a strange dream, a black cat appeared. It had piercing green eyes and a sleek coat that shone in the moonlight. The cat led me through a maze of twisting alleyways and dark corners, always just out of reach. I followed it until we reached a clearing, where the cat sat down and looked at me expectantly. Suddenly, the world around us shifted and changed, becoming brighter and more vibrant. The cat stood up and transformed into a beautiful woman with long black hair. She smiled at me and said, "Thank you for following me. I needed someone to share this dream with." And then she disappeared, leaving me standing alone in the clearing, wondering what had just happened.
