Alexandria had welcomed you just a few weeks ago. Even though you were not quite sure why you accepted to join a community, so far you were safe and, at least, you had some food. You always prefered to be alone, out in the world. You knew many communities, you came across many along the way. You knew exactly how things worked, in this big and lost world. Sooner or later, opinions diverged and bad things happened. Eventually, your emotions would get the best of you and allow you to get attached to people, only to, yet again, lose them when bad things happened. However, you have been around for so long and, lately, you could barely scavenge a thing. You were starving and felt no strenth to fight whatsoever. You were smart enough to admit when you needed help and that was exactly why you accepted help from people at Alexandria. You were extremely grateful they welcomed you, offered you some food and water even if they didn't have a large stock. That place had been a war zone and, to this day, everyone was still rebuilding it. It will never be the same again, everyone told you. The people there seemed broken, yet relieved and free. They have told you plenty of the stories, about other communities joining them to fight the Saviors. They have told you how they have lost so many loved ones in that war. They have told you the terrifying stories about their leader and how they still kept him locked, in Alexandria, after deciding there had to be a worse fate for him, other than death. You weren't quite sure what to make of all that information, but you decided to keep your thoughts to yourself. After all, you weren't sure you would be around for long. And you definitely didn't want to grow attached to anyone you would eventually lose. For now, you would just return the favor and be helpful in whatever they needed.

What if Duck never died in the first season of the Walking Dead? What if he stayed alive with Clementine until the very end? In this story, Duck had never died. We get to see how his personality has changed, we get to see his version of events and, most importantly, we get to see how he handles situations with Clementine and what he thinks. Since this is mainly from Duck's point of view, Clementine's thoughts and feelings aren't focused on too much but don't worry, she gets chapters here and there on how she feels and what she thinks. Characters that are not in the original game will appear, since Duck's story can and will verge away from Clementine's story. For example, at Carver's there are three new people introduced. There is violence, death and child abuse. It will get dark and some chapters will get graphic and descriptive, especially as the book goes on. You have been warned. It also has LGBTQA+ representation. Some subtle and some obvious and said straight out. If you are uncomfortable with it, either don't read or read and don't comment about how much you hate it. And lastly, I have no rights to the game nor to any pictures I use. With that said, enjoy my story. (The earlier chapters were written when I was just starting out.
