This work will contain some deviation from the original plot as I took inspiration from multiple sources, including Mako Mermaids and the classic YouTube mermaid series we all knew and loved growing up. This story was heavily inspired by Waterworks by Fireleaves, and I received their permission to write and post this.

As their friend groups starts to fall apart, they find themselves changing, developing new powers and tail colors. And on top of that, some of their families are getting closer and closer to discovering their secret. Will the group completely fall apart, or will the changes make them stronger?
