Clark and Lex have the same problem, they're desperate for something just out of reach. For Lex is something money can't buy. For Clark it's something family and friends can't provide. But when they're together, that pain eases. This is a Clex fanfic based on Smallville, in light of the first couple of seasons (I haven't watched season 3 yet so I don't know where Clark and Lex's dynamic takes them within this series, even if I know ultimately that they become enemies. Yes I just started watching this now in 2026. Please no spoilers). Enjoy :)
