Jessica was just aged 18 when she was diagnosed with cancer. By the time it is discovered, it is too late. The prognosis is 98% for not surviving and 2% for surviving for more than five years. 0% for seven years. Dedicated to my actual friend Jess, who has very high survival rates and is pulling through. (There is light swearing in this story to make it realistic.)

She's never even heard of Bratayley, but little does she know her life is about to change for the better. "The Boy Next Door" is a FanFiction for Caleb Logan, who passed away recently. It is set one year into the future, (CALEB DOES NOT DIE), and it's about growing out of childhood, getting a girlfriend, having his first kiss, and having new people come into Caleb's life, because sadly we'll never actually get to see him do any of these things. I HAVE MADE A FEW CHANGES IN THE STORY AND THEY'RE MEANT TO BE THAT WAY, FOR EXAMPLE, IT'S SET IN 2016 SO CALEB IS 14. (i have written this story during my time of mourning caleb logan's death, and if you're having a hard time with caleb's death, imagine you're ebony, and you get to be neighbors with the Bratayley family. it really made me feel better writing this, it was like an escape from reality. i hope i can help you feel better, it really helped me.)
