The United Nations created the United Nations of Earth under the command of General John Horton. June 2012 the Klybosion launch an assault on North America taking over much of New England including Washington DC and parts of California and Washington State. at the same time they attack Germany and other parts of the world. Prior to Washington DC falling to the invaders the President Gary Horton with approval of Congress makes General Horton the next president of the United States if anything should happen to him or to other members of the Chain of Command. This novel begins 12 days after the Klybosions invaded North America.
