Jonathan Morgenstern never got the chance to live. Not when he had demon blood burning in his veins. How I picture the City of Heavenly Fire- includes TMI/TID ~ Excerpt: I want to kiss you so bad, he whispers. I watch the way his soft lips move so perfectly as they form the words, kiss you. I hear the longing in his voice and I force myself to look into his eyes. I see the livid pain in his eyes. I watch as he breaks in front of me. My heart feels like its being ripped from my chest. I raise my hand to comfort him, but then I remember, and I lower my hand. He saw what I had tried to do and groans. He pushes himself away from me so quickly I lose my balance. I see tears welling in his eyes as he reaches for the door. Please don't, I say. He doesn't turn around, but he stops and quietly utters, Why? His voice breaks. Why am I such a monster? He slams the door behind him before I can say one word.

After Alec and Magnus's breakup, Alec is done. He doesn't fight demons..he doesn't even leave his room. After 3 months of this, Isabelle decides that he's depressed. Over on the other side of the city, Magnus is locked away in his apartment. Like Alec, Magnus is sulking in his home alone, dead to the world. Okay it's been like YEARS since this has been written and yes I know it is terrible but at least I tried right? ---------- City of Broken Hearts is about what happens after the occurrences of page 511 in CoLS. Alec gets down in the dumps after the break up and Magnus notices Alec is self harming.
