In the soot-covered streets of Cokeworth, where every house is the same shade of grey and every life repeats itself, a boy learns the first lessons of power - silence, control, and precision.

There is an itch in Severus Snape's withering heart, a tug in his stomach that constantly churns with guilt. It demands completion, satisfaction, appeasement. It takes him first to Godric's Hollow, and a graveyard that's too loud, too full of the dead. And then to Cokeworth, where the amount of life there is almost obscene.
