Fresh out of college barista Kai Smith just wanted to spend the next few years of his life with no complications, no trouble (though he did have a knack of getting into trouble a lot, all for good reasons). However, his life takes quite an interesting turn when he discovers a girl unconscious and lying on the beach in the hot sun, covered in scratches and bruises no one could even begin to explain. So he decides take her in, hoping to nurse her and help her find her home. Turns out there's more to the mysterious girl than he realized....

"You ask what it takes for someone to break. There is no wrong or right answer. It can take something complex like trauma or something as simple, but deadly, words. If you listen and watch closely enough, maybe...just maybe you will piece it all together" Everyone of Ninjago knows of Kai Smith, the Master of Fire. The ninja is sent to investigate crime scenes that are strangely connected to each other. They manage to track down the culprit, however, things do not go as planned as Kai failed to slow down the culprit and could not help but think about the culprit's words from before. Failing the mission, the blame gets pinned on Kai by the ninja except Lloyd. With the culprit on the loose, under huge fire by most of the ninja, Sensei Wu unaware of the changes taking place, and fighting his own demons, it is up to Kai on who he should settle sides with.
