Coley and Sonya had a messy, but oh-so-beautiful summer together. One evening, Coley is surprised by Sonya's return from dance camp. How many times can a heart be broken? Because Coley hears the words, "I know you're wrong, Coley." and it's like Sonya ripped Coley's heart out of her chest and stomped on it over and over again. And how many times can the truth be hidden until it finally catches up? Because Sonya hears the words, "I know you still like me, Sonya." and it's like Coley erased the lie and corrected it with the truth. Now tell me: Can two people reach the finish line together when they are playing two entirely different games? Because one is playing tag, and the other is playing hide and seek. After struggling to figure out who she is, Sonya has thankfully come to terms with her sexuality and her and her beautiful girlfriend Coley have just started a wonderful relationship. However, Sonya has a bunch of stuff she is still trying to navigate: how to exist as a queer person in a small rural town, in a family that she doesn't know will accept her, and in a community where her toxic ex-boyfriend still roams around.
