Ares, at only 17 years old has been preparing himself since birth for the Grand Knight Challenge. The greatest challenge for a young knight who wishes to either receive high praise and the ability to easily achieve almost any position in the royal army, or the ability to challenge the current ruler of the kingdom and take their place as ruler. Will Ares be able to come out victorious, like his father years ago, or will he be defeated like the previous twenty years of young champions before him.

The sounds of battle. The cries of pain, and the bloody gurgles of fallen warriors... Thats all I remember... A light floods in through the dark cellar the Romans threw me in. An ugly mishapen man looks down at me with a snorting cackle. One eye is white, and the other is a deranged sort of blue. "Alrights den. up yas go, yas gonna make me rich Spartan! I's knows it!" He grabs me by the chains that kept me prisoner and drags me out into the light. Men, woman and creatures surround me. Music played on pipes from snake charmers are playing. A market square, in a roman city of who gives a crap?

Have you seen a massive serpent fighting dragons? wyverns? soldiers? No. No you haven't. Have you BEEN a massive serpent fighting dragons, wyverns, soldiers, and more? No. But the very beast in this story certainly is. All they've known is the stone cold colosseum walls, the sand digging into the grooves between their scales, the bars of the massive cage they reside within, the moist darkness of their living quarters, the spectators screeching cheers when they won, the boos when they lost, the few bits of leftovers thrown into the colosseum and scrambling to get that tiny bit of food that could last them a minute longer, and the laughing of the very queen overseeing the entire thing. The one who caused them to be here- To forget what nature was and only know violence. The one who silenced them and stole what could've- And, in their opinion, SHOULD'VE been- their life. This wyrm is a silent, misunderstood, and only trained in the ways of fighting for their miserable life. And they may never leave this damned place till their inevitable death, and another oh-so-great champion takes their place. But maybe, even if they cant taste whatever "freedom" is, They can have a chance to tell their story. A story of pained isolation smothered by silent violence.

Based in Ancient Rome this fictional story is based on the lives of the gladiators and the powerful rulers of Rome. Based on close-to-life events the story follows the life and journey of a young woman who went on to stun the population of Rome with her fights in the newly built colosseum. This story is inspiring and will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end. From love and friendship to graphic battle details of bloodshed, murder and conspiracy, nothing gets in the way of this determined young girl who must fight for her life to keep everything she has ever known.
