After a devastating defeat, humanity was forced to give up their land and relocate to two isolated continents that were labeled as impossible to live on. After hundreds of years while the rest of the world focuses on agricultural and living conditions. Humanity had focused on its weapons and military. As years of isolation were broken and tensions rise, the fate of the world is left uncertain.

Within the walls of a colonial vessel, ocean water was once used as radiation shielding. Over time, the life hidden inside that water changed. Sea slugs developed sentience, formed a community, and came to know the enclosed waters between the ship's walls as the whole of existence. But beyond the sea they know are dry passages, silent corridors, and the remains of the humans who built the world around them. As the sea slugs begin to explore the interior of the ship, they search for answers about where they are, what happened to the beings who came before them, and whether their world is truly all there is. Their discoveries lead them deeper into the vessel, to stored memories, forgotten truths, and eventually the bridge, where they see a planet waiting below. From the memories they uncover, they come to understand that the planet is Earth. Beyond the walls, beyond the ship, are vast open oceans unlike anything they have ever known. With hope, uncertainty, and the remnants of humanity's failed return before them, the sea slugs make a plan to descend to the planet below and begin again in the waters of Earth.

All had fallen into the same routine. That is, until a smaller, sheltered community was driven out of isolation by necessity. Will this new community cope and survive the present dangers of this environment, or will they change it and run the risk of the sweet release of death?

In a faraway and peaceful place, four colonies live and thrive together. That is, until a fifth, mysterious colony, makes themself right at home and takes over, their power overwhelming anybody who stand in their way. From then on, every year, two kids from the other colonies are taken by this new colony, for unknown purposes. A young girl from this new colony meets a new, odd, friend, who seems to be from the same colony, but looks and behaves quite different. They are both, however, suspicious of the leaders of their colony- the first girl's parents. Will these two find the answers behind their colony's mysteries?
