In 1796, two vampire brothers are born into the Alexander family: Malik, the light-skinned son adored by all, and Darius, the darker-skinned outcast forced to grow up hard and fast. When Malik defies the ancient Black vampire elders by turning a white woman into one of the undead, he sparks a chain of betrayal that will split the vampire world in two. Banished and bitter, Malik builds an army of white "daywalkers" who blend into human society, feeding on privilege and power. Darius, finding acceptance in Memphis, raises a family of "night crawlers" bound to Black culture, music, and memory. As bloodlines divide, a war brews in the shadows of America, one of family, race, and survival. The fate of vampires and the truth of their origins will rest in the hands of their sons.

Even if it means putting yourself, and everything you know in danger?

The journal of Shaniece; We follow her as she goes through ups and downs, as she deals with bullies, severe anxiety, colorism, racism and the hardships of her verbally abusive father. She finds someone who helps her conquer it all, but like with anything else on this earth, it doesn't last. We watch her grow and change for the better and for the worst, we cry with her when shes fails and we rejoice with her when she succeeds. She's just trying to fit in, trying to find happiness in a world that deems her unacceptable because of the skin she was born in.

This 'book' will be used to bring awareness to colorism. It will be used to help those who have experienced colorism first-hand. It will be used to give others an opportunity to learn, and change some views on colorism. This is also a place where you can share your thoughts, experiences- if you have any, thoughts, and whatever else you would like. This is a place to be comfortable and learn, not judge, enjoy.

This is the struggle of being a dark skin girl. You go through colorism, discrimination, sexism, etc. Your own men won't even date you because of your skin. Light skin people won't even acknowledge our struggles , but make it about them. They say "We're all black" , but silenced the dark skin. - Now I'm not dark skin. I'm brown but my sister is a dark skin self-hating person of color. I love her dearly , but I wish she knew that I understand her struggles.
