This 'book' will be used to bring awareness to colorism. It will be used to help those who have experienced colorism first-hand. It will be used to give others an opportunity to learn, and change some views on colorism. This is also a place where you can share your thoughts, experiences- if you have any, thoughts, and whatever else you would like. This is a place to be comfortable and learn, not judge, enjoy.

Omolara is a young dark skinned black girl who is subjected to colorism from all corners of her community including her own family. One day however, she gets into a disagreement with a light skinned black women over DNA which plants a dangerous idea into her mind. The genetic argument is useless, what race you look like is what you are. With this, Omolara realises that the only thing making her black is her outer appearance. With cosmetic enhancements, Omolara begins her transformation into a mixed race women or what she calls, a pseudo biracial hoping it will make her life easier. However, society and people in general are hypocritical pieces of shit. Once Omolara's transformation and old looks get exposed, an explosive chain reaction erupts that puts her into a dangerous situation.

Come to Pakistan's vibrant streets and meet Bela and Saad, two people with tough pasts. Bela loves books and a designer who is too homely while Saad, a gentle soul, finds peace in cooking. Their lives collide in a whirlwind of feelings and secret wishes. Bela, who's not big on trusting, and Saad, a bit of a mystery, start a journey full of doubts and hidden feelings. As they figure out their tough pasts, they learn to trust each other. In the middle of dealing with traditions and their own struggles, their story shows how love and healing can happen, even when things seem messy. Will they get along or destiny will take another turn?

This poem is about colorism, which is discrimination against someone's skin color. Normally, I would have used the perspective of a woman, but I decided to use a man. It's important to acknowledge a man's perspective of colorism. Unfortunately, there are few too many who do not speak about the taunts they receive due to the fear of being labeled a "sissy" or "punk." Everyone has a story to tell and despite not being a man, I hope to shed light on this generational cycle of hatred. The images do not belong to me.

I've tried my best to portray the struggles of a brown-skinned girl as it is, which sometimes might look too exaggerated and negative for some readers. Of course, I could've written about a girl who finds comfort and loves her skin tone right from chapter one (because who doesn't like to read about a confident heroine, right?), but I didn't want to sugar-coat anything. This is a story about heartbreak, fighting through your insecurities, falling down, picking yourself up, and learning to love yourself without the need of validation from a man.
