In introspect, Maya should have seen it coming, she spent every profound moment of her adolescence with Louis, talking about everything and nothing thus blooming the inevitable falling for your bestfriend saga. It's a narrative that seems written in the stars, almost unavoidable, ingrained. An age old theory that platonic friendships can not exist between two best friends of the opposite sex because one of them is bound to fall for the other.

This is a 2016 Re-Upload. This was written ten years ago. Uploaded for nostalgia. Rayna tries to keep her mood on chill 24/7 but with skin deemed blue-black and with friends that are always surrounded by guys it's hard to do. At her school her complexion is deemed unfit to hang out with her closest friends. She gets her hands on bleaching cream and thinks all of her problems can go away. Until she meets Jamal who seem to add to her life's drama. Jamal had one thing in mind and that's graduating and moving as far away from Long Beach as possible but somehow despite his attempts Rayna is the only thing keeping him there.

A Story of Unrequited Love Nori, born to two black, immigrant parents, moves from Brooklyn, New York to Beverly Hills, California, with her parents and god-mother, after her maternal grandfather passed away and left a "gold mine of a will" to her mother. In the summer of 2010, Nori attended a summer camp founded by the wealthy, for the wealthy. There, she made no friends, because of her introvert tendencies and her dark complexion, except for a then, 13 year old girl, named Jane. Jane and her older brother, Joshua, attended the camp together. Nori really fancied Joshua. But did Joshua fancy Nori?... not so much. Nori and Jane, attending seperate middle schools, promised each other that they would reunite and attend the same high school, but unbeknownst to Nori, Jane and her family held very strong negative views towards "people like her". What could such views be? What does "people like her" mean? Read to find out!

It is a story that revolves around a real social issue - COLORISM, which for years has tormented many people's lives, including mine. I've tried my best to portray the struggles of a brown-skinned girl as it is, which sometimes might look too exaggerated and negative for some readers. Of course, I could've written about a girl who finds comfort and loves her skin tone right from chapter one (because who doesn't like to read about a confident heroine, right?), but I didn't want to sugar-coat anything. This is a story about heartbreak, fighting through your insecurities, falling down, picking yourself up, and learning to love yourself without the need of validation from a man. A Story based on how a middle class girl without family name falls in love with an upper class elite family boy. Will their love last ? Who or what will break them? Can Love overcome Social class ? Amelia wants to believe Matheo Love for her is real, but she has a gut feeling that there's something behind it all.

Omolara is a young dark skinned black girl who is subjected to colorism from all corners of her community including her own family. One day however, she gets into a disagreement with a light skinned black women over DNA which plants a dangerous idea into her mind. The genetic argument is useless, what race you look like is what you are. With this, Omolara realises that the only thing making her black is her outer appearance. With cosmetic enhancements, Omolara begins her transformation into a mixed race women or what she calls, a pseudo biracial hoping it will make her life easier. However, society and people in general are hypocritical pieces of shit. Once Omolara's transformation and old looks get exposed, an explosive chain reaction erupts that puts her into a dangerous situation.

A story about a divorced black woman who met a white successful rich white man and fell in love with each other. Through hardships, misunderstandings, jealousy and anger will they be able to stay together. Check it out.

Based on my own life from childhood to adolescence. Her name: is Michele Obika. Just entered her 20s. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Birthdate: December 24, 2001. She was born in an American base in a small town called Sulzbach in Germany but was raised in four cities in the Golden State. Her skin has beautiful dark ebony with sparkling brown eyes and a thick fro. Lives in a family of eight. Here's her (my) story.

I know there's many rant books similar to this, but I wanted to join the bandwagon. Plus I think I have a lot to rant about. So get ready to talk about controversial and relatable things.

At school in the morning, nobody would want to talk to her. When it came to conversations, she'd always have to start them. When it came to music tastes, no one ever heard of the artists she was talking about. Worst of all, Oasis couldn't confide in anybody about anything, not even her own mother and father. So, she decided to go about finding what she wanted in her own way. Somehow it worked out in her favor... She found exactly what she was looking for in the most unexpected person.
