Maddie Fitz was just a normal fourteen-year-old girl, until the day she became a Wordsmith. Tasked with keeping the human world at peace, Maddie was given a special Pen where everything she wrote with it came true. Maddie tries to adjust to life with this ability and responsibility, as well as the shift in her relationship with her identical twin sister, Sadie. Her once supportive sister was now jealous of Maddie being chosen to be a Wordsmith, especially since that meant that Maddie was pure of heart and Sadie was not. After a fight with Sadie, Maddie picks up the Pen and angrily writes "I wish I had never been a twin!" When she wakes up the next morning, all traces and memory of Sadie are gone. However, Maddie keeps having dreams of a girl that looks like her yelling for help. Who is this girl and will Maddie realize she wrote her sister out of existence?
