The sixty-ninth entry of the 2022-2023 Film Journal features "Dick Tracy". Here, I take a brief look at what I took away from this distinct piece of 1990s cinema forgotten and beloved by many different folk for thirty-years

Our story takes place at a growing city in the 80s. After getting fired from their third office job, Sydney, a lowlife and somewhat lazy purple feline decides it's time for a change when they try to get a job at a company called GLEE, which soon after becomes a success for it's newly released product, "the Glee drink", which Sydney gets hired to advertise as the company's mascot, "Happy Helperton"! And though Sydney's life feels like a dream come true with the decent pay and sudden fame, their decision to work with advertising such a product soon leads them to comedic, action packed adventure when they reunite with some old friends who believe the company as being more then what it seems to be on the outside...
