This book highlights some important truths about establishing an effective and consistent prayer life, by scrutinizing the prayer life of Daniel, who happened to be an extremely busy person, in his time. One point that stands out is that prayer is not supposed to be a weekly or monthly exercise but a daily activity because of its necessity in the life of a believer. Additionally, prayer is not just a New Testament concept but, it has always been a part of mankind's relationship with God. And, the reader should come to a realization that, it is a personal responsibility chiefly, in maintaining a lifestyle of prayer, although the Holy Spirit helps to pray effectively

In the 1970s, Troy joined the wave of hippies and draft dodgers going back to the land to enjoy the "simple life." When his attempts at homesteading fail as miserably as his attempts at love, Troy devotes his time instead to building life-size dinosaur replicas from the broken farm machinery that litters the Ontario countryside. The simple life indeed, until a young woman claiming to be his daughter knocks on his cabin door, and Troy is finally forced to admit that, far from simplifying his life, he had complicated it more than he ever realized. "Old Bones" won the Canadian Authors Association prize for best short story and was first published in the journal "Existere." Praise for The Wolves of St. Peter's: “This is the third novel by the Canadian team of Buonaguro and Kirk, and it’s the best so far. The setting is Rome, 1508, and Michelangelo is hard at work on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. The master’s houseboy and dogsbody is Francesco Angeli and it’s Angeli who spots a body floating in the Tiber. It wasn’t such an unusual sight in those days, but when the corpse is dragged in, Angeli is astonished to find that he knows the dead woman. The writers are adept at plotting and they make great use of the grand artists who were in Rome at the time, along with the streets, smells and the brothels they attended. There are also floods on the rise to add to the suspense as Angeli hunts for a killer and attends to genius.” --Globe & Mail

Summary of the Passage: In a cult-controlled commune in Pskov, children are forcibly taken from their families and raised to serve an oppressive prophecy. Fyodor and his assigned fiancée, Irina, are one such "pair," chosen to breed a foretold child of Buer-an unnatural savior born from pain and knowledge. The cult discards unworthy children through slavery or death, enforcing absolute control. Though disillusioned, Fyodor believes in salvation and sees himself as a divine guide, starting with Irina. As she gently weaves a yarrow crown in the meadow, he rests on her lap, caught between tenderness and the dark ideology that shaped them.

"𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭..." It had been at least an hour of running in the forest from her captors, and she wondered if she'd ever get out of this forest. She heard a noise to her left, pausing and looking over to see a teenage girl that seemed to be around her age. She watched her for a moment, mesmerized. She felt that there was something different about this girl, something in the way she moved. She soon figured out why she was different, because with 2 glances to both sides, the strange girl stretched, uncovering a pair of largely feathered wings. She gasped, sending the winged girl looking her way. The two locked eye contact, both not moving, just staring. The winged girl took flight, and the girl thought her eyes played tricks on her or something, but kept wondering about maybe if it was all real. She got her answer soon after though, as she took a glance up to the sky and out of nowhere, she was amongst the sky as well. The winged girl had picked her up and started flying through the air, a hardened look pasted on her face. What happens next? Will the strange girl be a friend, or a horrid enemy? Who knows, enjoy the story.
