From a young age, Kai had been fascinated by his father's work, watching intently as he prepared his nets and baited his hooks. As he grew older, Kai began to join his father on fishing trips, learning the tricks of the trade and the ways of the sea. Despite his love for fishing, Kai had a secret passion that he kept hidden from his family and friends. He loved to sing. Whenever he was out at sea, he would sing to himself, creating melodies that would make even the sirens jealous. His voice was beautiful, and it filled him with a sense of joy that he had never felt while fishing. Kai's father had always been proud of him, and he wanted his son to be the best fisherman he could be. He knew that the family's livelihood depended on their success at sea, and he pushed Kai to perfect his skills. But Kai couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something more that he wanted to do with his life. As her questions are answered, more arise and Evelyn must push back the lies she's been fed her entire life and find the bare truth. Whether it kills her or not.
