Who was I? Only the greastest person on earth. People might of had a different idea of me. It depended on who you asked. I was not the same with everyone. My attitude was based on who I came across with. I was determined and strived for success even if that meant knocking a few people down along the way. I wouldn't have called myself fake but more, I don't know... just not fake. I was just the best of the best. No one was able to reach my level. No one was good enough to be around me, not even my 'friend' Kelly. It was amazing how that loser thought I was really her friend even through the hard times I put her through. Emery Glass enjoys her own company. It's the only one she ever really gets, what with her what some would call "overwhelming" personality. So when her mother takes a turn for the worse and is no longer deemed reliable, and her undesirable and unfaithful father is off galavanting with god knows who, she's shipped off to live with her estranged Grandfather in Hartford, Connecticut who seems to be a bit senile, she's totally lost the one ounce of faith in humanity that she still possessed. And while she's staying with her Grandfather, she's enrolled in a new highschool with a bit of a different way of doing things than she'd used to. While she's there, she meets a group that soon seems to accept her as their own, but with a warning of a darker group of boys that she should never associate herself with. Emery finds herself intrigued, and is eventually led to the head of the group of boys who seems to have an even bigger ego than herself, Alexander Cross. But are they friends, enemies, or is something more? Either way, Emery is soon thrust into a new world of drama, love, choices and heart break that she's never known before. Maybe she should have stuck to her own self-worship back in New Jersey.
