Macon déteste les Anglais. Il les hait du plus profond de son âme et n'a qu'un seul objectif : annexer leur île de malheur. Mais quand un mystérieux virus apparaît, et qu'il se retrouve confiné de force avec le leader de ses ennemis jurés, dans une chambre où il n'y a qu'un seul lit, Macon est contraint de s'adapter. Quel sont ces doutes qui s'emparent de Macon ? Parviendra-t-il a dépasser ses préjugés ? Le Président de la République Française arrivera-t-il a surmonter cette épreuve ? Les personnages de ce récit sont purement fictifs. Toute ressemblance avec des personnes existantes ou ayant existé est purement fortuite.

Meanwhile, the Volunteers are keeping secrets about the past; secrets about why these six hundred are alive when no one else is. Aileen must find a way to survive, and continue the Opportunity Camp's mission, despite the fact that she's locked in a box with probable killers. With the help of her thieving roommate, Billie, and her shrewdly scientific friend, Damien, she just might be able to avoid the teens who want her dead long enough to discover the Volunteers' secrets.

Karelin Brinet doesn't remember how this happened, where she's from, or who this man is. She awoke in a dark room illuminated by only the glow of a gold and black pendant resting against her chest. The pendant cannot be removed; she's tried but it only causes her pain. She later figures out her reason for being here and plans to escape; but how, exactly, will she do that when she is being observed by not only her captor, but the pendant that is trapping her here.
