The most advanced city the world has ever know. A human-machine hybrid. Five friends, separated, not knowing who's alive. Complete chaos as a second race is created for one main purpose; to create a perfect world, even if it means humans would all be gone, forever. /*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* Today, Kayla, Thomas, Bryson, Kyle, and I got together to break into the School's principal's office. Yeah, we were that dumb. So fast forward to the part where we are literally standing outside the principal's door and discussing Monty Python and the Holy Grail. "We shouldn't go in, there could be a killer rabbit!" Thomas complained. "Then let's just bring the Holy Hand Grenade." I sighed, reaching to turn the door knob. "And risk blowing ourselves up? No way!" "Tommy, you're turning this into a very strange, realistic D&D game. We don't need that right now!" "But--" I heard footsteps coming from a while away. "Shh! Someone's coming." The others listened, but they couldn't hear it. "That's BS!" Kayla complained. "No one's here." "Trust me, I have good ears." "Maybe she's the killer rabbit, with hearing like that." Bryson suggested, but he let me by him to the handle when I gave him a glare. I turned it, but it was locked. I cursed. "We're so done." But Kayla pulled out a paperclip, broke it in half, and handed it to me. "That only works in movies!" I grumbled, but inserted the homemade lockpick into the keyhole, and twisted them around till the lock clicked and I swung the door open, ushering everyone inside. Then I closed the door and locked it.

A tale of depression and mental illness driving a man to insanity. This is a depiction of how people go mad in a world that is growing evermore dull and machinelike. A world without nature is a world driven insane.

Society messes with you in more than one way: Telling you to change yourself into someone you aren't just to fit specific fixed and stereotypical molds only because those who fit them seem higher or even superior, and as human nature, we desire that more than anything. Or even put subconscious doubts of our own self-worth based on others around us, telling us to conform into certain ideas in attempts to temporarily remedy this. Seventeen-year-old Jeong Yunho was no different: He just wanted to fit in. Yunho was one of his school's hockey jocks, and because of his jock status, he was obviously very high in the local social ladder. Being a jock had a strong stereotype that many people were aware of: Strong, Muscular, Sporty, Mean, Tough, Leader-like, Straight. Yunho pretty much fit the bill. Except for the last one. Follow Yunho as he discovers self-acceptance, learning that it's okay to be different, and trying to fit in isn't always everything. ⚠️⚠️ This story contains mentions and descriptive scenes of strong language, drug usage, minor sexual actions, and many other triggering topics. Please be safe and if you are uncomfortable with certain topics, I will put a warning in that chapter. Thank you. ⚠️⚠️ Contains Ateez, Stray Kids, Itzy, Everglow, and Enhypen characters.

Summary: Dylan's life has always been a routine with very little deviation; it's tried and truly perfect. The perfect routine for the perfect town. The kids he went to kindergarten with are the exact same kids he'll graduate with next year. Nothing ever changes, until Emma moves in across the street. She is different from all of the other girls, with bright pink hair, total confidence and the tendency to speak up for herself, even when she should just stay quiet. Everyone shuns her, calling her names, pushing her in the hall. Everyone except Dylan. After being trapped in detention with Emma, he begins to learn more and more about her. He finds himself leaving the crowd more, something unusual for him. Can Emma help him to stand out for once, even when he's spent his entire life just blending in? Excerpt: We don't say anything else about it, and everyone continues as though the last few minutes never happened. Nothing like that happens in Oakland, at least it never gets seen, and it always gets ignored. You only see the perfect parts. How we all get really great grades because our school system is one of the best in the country. No one commits suicide, no one gets busted for doing drugs. Those things never get recognized, always hidden from the public eye. In the public's view everyone always looks the same, acts the same, thinks the same. Always.
