Under the totalitarian hand of the Controllers, the world is binary in every sense, down to the sanctioned clothing we wear. Non-conformity is punished, even if the gender of your soul does not belong to the gender of your flesh. **Top 10 Winner of #MyHandmaidstale selected by Margaret Atwood and Hulu** Inspired by Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale #MyHandmaidsTale Word Count 483

Nobody said life was easy, but I never expected it to be so... Well, hard. It's inconsistent and it has ups and downs you either follow or get dragged over. But worst of all, it doesn't care about you. It doesn't care if you have plans or if you want things a specific way. It has plans of it's own. It will bring people in, take them out, pull you into things and then snap you away. You blink, look away for just a moment, and when you look back... You may not be the same you you started with. All of this and more is something I would need to learn.

Can they overcome their pain, or will it consume them entirely? Selah and Jace are two of a kind, yet when Selah is thrown into a cycle of self-worth and acceptance, Jace strains to save her, ultimately sacrificing deep bonds-and maybe even himself. Who will she choose? How will she choose? How can a girl face these heavy decisions after so long being unwanted?

I used to be just like any other "normie" out there. I followed the same trends, dressed like everyone else, and generally went with the flow. But that all changed when I encountered Nagolbud. When I met him, I quickly realized that he was no ordinary person. He challenged the status quo and showed me a world where conformity was not the only option. After that, I knew I wanted to become a proud non-conformist anti-normie. With Nagolbud's help, I was able to break away from the normie world and embrace my own unique style.

This is just a little imaginative I wrote for one of my Year 12 assessment pieces exploring reality based on the stories from Michael Leunig's "The Lot: In Words". Let me know what you think.
