The clouds were dark and gloomy, gathered together in the sky as they curtain the setting sun in the horizon. Remembering how Nandini would kill to photograph these clouds in front of him, Pranny's tanned skin crinkled in his eyes as he laughed at his thoughts.
Then remembering how she wasn't in front of his vision he couldn't help but remember the warmth and love Nandini and Priya would shower him with if they were there in front of him.
He sucked in a breath, his lower lip trembling a little, were tugged in by his pearly whites as his gaze soon found his 'best friend' in the ground talking animatedly with a person- a person with their face blurred lush black hair cascading like a waterfall to their hip, strands flying a little with the winds blowing against them.
His 'best friend' known as Harsh to the world was his heart, not metaphorically but literally- keeping Harsh a little away from Pranny would hurt him in his heart almost as if they were pricked by a thousand needles all together.
Yet, even when Pranny stands face to face with him, his heart still stubbornly aches, aches with the constant reminder how nothing & how many medals he could get back home wouldn't serve as a proof to even stand in the shadow of Harsh let alone be enveloped in his love.
Sitting in the armchair, in his family's garden, his entire body felt no warmth, not even the warmth of the cushions in the armchair reaching him and his heart- almost as if he were one of the cold blooded animals with lack of thermo regulatory system his 'best friend' would rant about to him.
His knees pressed against his drumming heart, held tighter as he admired the person he loves, loved and vowed to love till his last breath with heavy lids threatening to let his tears fall like leaves in autumn.
He blinked them away, as he wrestled against the urge to whisper his words of love to Harsh and let go off his battered lower lip.
