Evan Hansen was always nervous, and wouldn't stop freaking out over the smallest things. When these two characters lives collide, literally, how will their company change the other? Can each character save themselves and the other? Note: This is an AU, in the musical version Connor is not good friends with Evan while in this version he is (due to the events that transpired in this fanfiction), so while I ship treebros in the AU context this is not the original musical, you can make your own opinion after watching the original. The crew cancel the show on behalf of Mikes health and are practically devastated to find out the other is unresponsive on the stage. When they bring him to the hospital, the shock continues as they find mikes mind is stuck thinking he is the Character he was playing in the play he got hurt in, Connor Murphy. Ben Platt is devastated at his friends new state of mind, he tries hard to help him out of it but nothing works and everything begins to loose hope... So, this may or may not be inspired by another fanfic, I've searched everywhere I could think of for it, but I couldn't find it, I made a post on tumblr explaining what it was abt, so if any of you find it, please tell me. I took the title from the game "What remains of Edith Finch". This takes place somewhere between the beginning of the letter thing, and the beginning of the musical, so it won't follow cannon on anything other than Evan having to write the letters. Would this count as a soulmate au, or a reincarnation au? That is the question.
