"Do we get code names? Can mine be Storm Front?" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ In a world where magic is mundane, Mollie is just a student trying to make it through her final year of university. With the rebellions in the South gaining support, and reports of unrest in the East, the government decides to make use of the people most trained in magic; university students. Conscripted to fight for her country, Mollie is thrown into an unfamiliar world of strict schedules and grueling training sessions. But none of that can prepare her for life in a warzone.

In the City of Vanstone, survival is a privilege - not a right. At sixteen, every citizen's life changes. Your name is added to the Conscription Ledger, and from that moment, your clock starts ticking. The only way to escape that fate is to survive the Trials. Brutal. Public. Glorified. Win, and you earn a place within the Garrison - trained, fed, sheltered from the front lines. Lose and you might not return at all. For years, Sable has prepared for this moment. Training classes. Hunger. Discipline. But beneath the spectacle of the Trials lies something far darker. Because in Vanstone, the greatest danger isn't the arena.
