Survival is more than air and water when you're being hunted by the undead. Worst yet, when you caused it. Willow ascends into what she believes is an answer to prayer, leaving the harsh realities of the world below behind her. But when she arrives onboard Proc 1, nothing is as it seems. She's quickly indoctrinated into the system by her mysterious rescuers, only to learn that she's been promoted to Lead Physicist in the NAMOS program-BioTic Corp's Top Secret protocol on genetic decomposition and mutations. The name on file is not her own, but someone else's. Cloaking herself in this new identity, she marvels at the vastness and complexities of the first floating civilization. Her curiosity is cut short as her advanced training in molecular cloning begins. This only drives the knot deeper into the pit of her stomach. It's only a matter of time before she's discovered as an imposter. The further she digs, the harder it is to decipher the truth from lies. SIND is not what everyone believed it to be. The new world government wasn't trying to save mankind; it was attempting to control it by curing death. There's just one problem; no one survived the treatments, until her. With a potential cure pulsing through her veins, will Willow be able to stop the impending apocalypse before she's turned into SIND's next science experiment? Find out in Amber Skies. What begins as a distant news report of a "weird new flu" quickly transforms into a terrifying, global pandemic: The Gnawing Sickness. This isn't just an illness; it's a brutal contagion that turns humans into ravenous, violent Infected. When a military helicopter crashes near his skyscraper, Miguel-a window cleaner high above the chaos-is trapped, fighting his way through an infected building, determined to reach his daughter. Miles away, Celine witnesses the world's collapse from her locked-down college campus, only to discover the infection has breached its walls. Haunted by her father's last, enigmatic message, "I love you... sorry for everything...", Celine must lead a small group of survivors through a city devoured by horror. Their desperate journey across a frozen, ravaged landscape leads them to a remote military research facility in the Nevada mountains-a beacon of hope, or a final trap? As they navigate its eerie, powered-down corridors, they uncover horrifying truths about the virus, its origins, and a chilling automated protocol: The Containment Purge. With the Infected now actively being released from the facility's lower levels, and a new, agile horror rapidly ascending the ventilation shafts, Celine and her dwindling group face their ultimate test. Will they find a way to shut down the fatal protocol before they are overwhelmed? Or has humanity, trapped within this metal tomb, merely stepped deeper into a nightmare from which there is no escape? The fight for survival has only just begun, and the true horror of The Gnawing Sickness is yet to be fully revealed.

Occupants: 1,000,000. Survivors: 1. Proc 1 lay battered on New Jersey's shore. Willow emerges from the fire to a crater. The black heap of the blast radius extends in all directions. Steam billows from the singed sand like white vapors. The fractured ship towers to the sky. The ringing in her ears won't stop. The robotic voice of ARC replays over and over. The ship is going down. But it was too late. Everyone was dead. The first signs of life come from the burned bodies on the beach, rising from the ashes like dark wraiths. This was only the beginning. Willow flees the wreckage, her mind raging between fury and sorrow. She's alone. She can feel it. But, there's something else out there. She knows it. When more of the dead begin to rise, Willow shifts her course north. There's only one place she knows to go that might offer some answers: Camp Grayling. If it even existed. With only her uncle's memories to go by, finding the FEMA camp proves more hazardous than she anticipated. When she arrives, she's not the only one. There are people here. People outside the reach of SIND; so she thinks. Even here, among the tunnels of the mountain, remnants of SIND can be seen. As she journeys deeper seeking answers to her questions, she learns the hardest truth of them all: she's not who she thinks she is. The post-apocalyptic quest of Willow comes to a close in this epic final chapter. When the shroud finally lifts and the answers are revealed, will they be too much for Willow to accept? Or will she rise to the challenge? Find out now in Risen. Highest rank: #549 (10/31/2016)

«I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.» (Albert Einstein) Net of what the well-known aphorism hinted at, at the dawn of the second twenty years the Third World War will not see the deployment of nuclear weapons, but the opposite scenario will occur: the battle will be fought on the sofa at home and the only weapon challenged will prove to be a simple act of responsibility. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic puts the health of several states in crisis. Italy is the first country hit in the Western world, as well as the most sensitive target. It all starts in the oldest nation in the world, when a series of circumstances and conjunctures lead a microscopic packet of RNA to travel into the cells of a vendor in the Wuhan market. While the West stigmatizes the danger of the virus, China responds with a just quarantine and the construction of two hospitals in a few days. The underestimation of the phenomenon that took place in the Old Continent will catapult the rest of the world into an unprecedented historical lockdown. Forced isolation will be useful for rethinking our habits and customs, a new model of society and rediscovering the civic sense and collective good, but also to unleash plots and to underline the greed of the God money to the motto of "It's just a 'influence". A terrible fake news that, just like a virus, has infected all the systems of society: from institutions to the media to public opinion. The writing, which mixes news, fiction and non-fiction, touches on various themes such as the possible social and economic implications of the pandemic, the tragedy of Northern Italy and the disaster of what happens when the economy becomes an end and not a means, defeat metaphorical of institutionalized faith, the re-evaluation of science in a society governed by humanism, the conspiratorial plunder and, finally, will ask the reader a question about a possible moral of the fable.
