A jungle lab burns. A weapon evolves. And the only man who touched it is already changing. Elias Voss was sent to steal a parasite‑born compound before it could become a weapon. He failed. Now half the sample is missing, the other half is inside him, and every government involved is lying about what it really does. It doesn't kill. It rewrites. Fear. Empathy. Hesitation. Gone. With seventy‑two hours before the mutation completes, Voss must team up with the rival agent who tried to kill him to stop a global release that will turn soldiers into something fearless, contagious, and unstoppable. Kill it before it dies. Or kill it before we do. A bio‑thriller about evolution, espionage, and the cost of intervention.

It is a super parasite, intent on surviving at any cost. Having migrated from another plane of existence, one that it utterly consumed, it exists only to feed and to grow, transforming organic life into hosts, which then produce and spread more of its contagion. Along with his best friend, Mo, and a girl he just met, Eva, seventeen-year-old Alex Dash is thrust into a suddenly chaotic world, one that turns neighbors into monsters and the once cheerful streets of the charming shore town into avenues of mayhem and death. Alex's father had predicted this end of the world scenario. Now, with it playing out just as he had warned, Alex, armed with the training his father had provided, is tasked with protecting his young siblings, Henry and Annabelle, and finding a way out of the nightmarish landscape they once called home.

The wealthy stayed on Earth where as the poorer less fortunate part of the population was moved to another planet. This new planet (XC-71) has a micro organism in the air called virus 16 that, if inhaled, takes control of its host making the person extremely hostile and violent. Air domes had to be constructed on the planed to allow humans to civilize the planet and to allow its inhabitants to go about their lives without a mask constantly strapped to their faces. Water is the same on the planet as it is on Earth and the micro organisms cannot survive in water. Also the buckets used to collect water filter out the micro organisms from any air in the buckets.

«I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.» (Albert Einstein) Net of what the well-known aphorism hinted at, at the dawn of the second twenty years the Third World War will not see the deployment of nuclear weapons, but the opposite scenario will occur: the battle will be fought on the sofa at home and the only weapon challenged will prove to be a simple act of responsibility. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic puts the health of several states in crisis. Italy is the first country hit in the Western world, as well as the most sensitive target. It all starts in the oldest nation in the world, when a series of circumstances and conjunctures lead a microscopic packet of RNA to travel into the cells of a vendor in the Wuhan market. While the West stigmatizes the danger of the virus, China responds with a just quarantine and the construction of two hospitals in a few days. The underestimation of the phenomenon that took place in the Old Continent will catapult the rest of the world into an unprecedented historical lockdown. Forced isolation will be useful for rethinking our habits and customs, a new model of society and rediscovering the civic sense and collective good, but also to unleash plots and to underline the greed of the God money to the motto of "It's just a 'influence". A terrible fake news that, just like a virus, has infected all the systems of society: from institutions to the media to public opinion. The writing, which mixes news, fiction and non-fiction, touches on various themes such as the possible social and economic implications of the pandemic, the tragedy of Northern Italy and the disaster of what happens when the economy becomes an end and not a means, defeat metaphorical of institutionalized faith, the re-evaluation of science in a society governed by humanism, the conspiratorial plunder and, finally, will ask the reader a question about a possible moral of the fable.

My hands were shaking and my eyes felt heavy, and I had no idea why. Having no recollection of how I got here, or even who I was, I called out in a desperate attempt to find out. "Hello?" I called, my voice strained."Is anyone there?" I could feel a hot breath tickle my neck. I swallowed bile. I quickly realized that I wasn't alone.
