Some voices keep you company. One won't let you go.
Every night, Lucy Valentine fills the dark with her voice. As the host of Late Night Lucy on Coast FM, she's the warm, witty companion to every insomniac, lonely heart, and true-crime devotee in the quiet coastal town of Flounder Bay. She knows her listeners are out there in the dark.
She doesn't know one of them is listening too closely.
It starts small. A note under her windscreen wiper. A wilted rose on her desk. A text from an unknown number that knows far too much. Lucy tells herself she's imagining it, but someone is watching Lucy, someone patient enough to move through her life without being seen.
Caleb Jones keeps to himself. He runs the local pub, fights fires when the siren calls, and learned a long time ago that the people you love are the people you lose. But he can't stop watching Lucy's back, and he can't outrun the dread that he's seen this before, in a girl who vanished from the same radio station years ago and was never found.
As the threat closes in and the tide rises, Lucy and Caleb will have to decide how much they're willing to risk for each other, because the man in the dark has been patient for a very long time, and he has finally decided to stop letting go.
It's a slow-burn romance set against a fast-paced suspense plot.
