Sometimes, we are forced to deal with a friendship in our lives that is unhappy and painful. The best way to solve the problem is to end the friendship. This poem reflects one of my own painful friendships, and how I eventually ended it.

It's Emerson Carter's freshman year of high school at The Institute of Sports and Performing Arts Academy - also known as the Academy. Her days consist of early morning and late night figure skating practices, school, and hanging out with her group of friends. She's focused on her figure skating dream and in turn leads an uncomplicated life. That is until she starts getting closer with Elijah Turner - her best friend's twin brother. Chelsea and Emmy have been friends since their final year of middle school, but due to different social groups, Emmy was able to meticulously avoid Eli and all the complications that came with his spotlighted hockey career.
