The Sailors step foot onto the docks, their stories in hand, in search to know if it is real. One morning the sun shall rise, but so will the Sirens. In the middle of the sea, their deadly song shall ring across the ripples. The Sailors jump in, one after another. Their stories stay on the ship, forgotten even after it is sunk. Though, the stories of the luxurious Sirens live through the land, each one told over and over again. Even if they are sunk, it shall live on. Now it is time to find which story yours is. Whether you're a Sailor who's story is only for a short time, or a Siren whose story lives on forever. We welcome you into the vault of the Ocean. Our Queen shall decide the fate of your soul.

Ashley Ketchum's alarm clock blared like a wild Jigglypuff concert gone wrong. She groaned and slapped at it blindly, missing twice before finally smacking it silent with a loud clunk. The sunlight was merciless, creeping in through the gap in her curtains and landing right across her face. "Ugh, Sun! Take a hint," she mumbled, yanking her blanket over her head. For a split second, she entertained the brilliant idea of using Dig to escape deeper under the covers. Her toes wiggled as if prepping for action, but her brain kicked in a moment later. Today wasn't just any day-it was the day. Her eyes shot open like a Staryu's gem, and she bolted upright in bed, her blanket flying off her like a Togekiss taking off. "Today's my first day as a trainer!" she squealed, practically vibrating with excitement. She threw her legs over the side of her bed and stood up so fast she almost tripped on her Pikachu-patterned pajama pants.

On the run, Willow stumbles into a bandit ambush and is rescued by a lone traveler. He reluctantly agrees to help protect her on the forest paths if she can guide him to his destination. His distant demeanor suddenly changes after she returns his cloak, not realizing he is a selkie, nor aware that if someone returns a selkie's cloak, the selkie falls in love with them. As they travel, she discovers that he's everything she ever wanted in a husband, but learns that it comes at a cost - and that cost is his freedom. Note: If you're looking for a typical lore-based selkie story, I'm afraid you won't find it here. But if you're looking for a hopeful selkie and an uninformed human, then you have come to the right place. ONC 2025 awards: Ambassador's pick award, Round 2 winner, and Short List award. This originally was going to be my submission for the Super co-writing contest, but I've grown rather attached to it, so I'm making it a regular short story, and shall submit something else for the contest. Enjoy. ___________ Jakob has the worst possible luck. All his life, up until the age of thirteen, he believed he could grow to be a powerful superhero, helping people in need. But, after he gets his powers, his life goes into a downward spiral. He is told by his father that he should be a supervillain, due to the powers Jakob gets being more villainous. His mother is put into a coma by presumably Jakob, and because of that, Jakob takes his father's advice in being a cold-hearted supervillain. Now, on his own, Jakob must survive in a world full of heroes as a villain, one of the few villains that never wanted to be a villain. One if the few villains that aren't truly villainous.

With my ways it's hard to keep down anything healthy, relationships that don't last but stay with me like my own personal demons. And evil around the corner you'd never see coming. The pain changes you. Trauma changes you. It strips you away from yourself. BPD strips away your identity sometimes I guess this is my way of finding myself again, through writing and reflecting and realizing it is okay to be hurting.
