To keep myself from losing track of: all the 2025 contests I've entered, all the 2025 contests I've volunteered myself as a judge (or let myself be volun-told into judging), all the 2025 books I've had to read as a contestant or as a judge, all the 2025 deadlines, and all the other important stuff, here is a book that registers all these 2025 things in a somewhat organized fashion. With occasional commentary. Nota bene: Although other people are welcome to browse my public contest logs and look for contests, look for information about details of contests (i.e. you want me to pour you some tea), etc, these contest logs are primarily for my own use. I enter so many contests that I can't keep track of them without a log. I forget important details, too, including things like "Note to self: You do not get along with this contest host, best not participate in their contests." Like my 2024 contest log, this was never meant to be an "expose" book. I'm not exposing anybody. Contests are matters of public record, as are any comments made in the contest books. Though she does not realize it, Myrae Clemans is very special. She's special because she is one of the first designer babies to ever be born. Her parents, who are scientists, specially edited her genes to create what they would deem their "ideal" child. And, they were successful. Well, almost. Myrae does not know what edits her parents made to her genes. She knows it makes her special, but she doesn't know just how special, or how unfortunate. Zimruphân is no lord. He is no Gondorian, he is no king. Harad is a harsh place for a weak soul. When scraping together coin as a mercenary, even sinking to a bandit when times are hard, life out on the sands can be an easy way to get killed. That is, if you lack the wits. And Zimruphân's seen his fair share of surprise. However, things will drastically change when a dangerous storm separates him from his mission and the partner he traveled with. Alone, he wanders, until crossing paths with another, beaten stray. While everything is in perspective, would it be a sin to shift his view on the land he inhabits? A Lord of the Rings oneshot for the Distant Lands Awards, taking place in Harad. -- I don't own JRR Tolkien's works (I know, how shocking) and ideas, or the places and backstories used.
