Starliner, a former Decepticon, longs for freedom and peace for Cybertron and the universe. But when Soundwave sacrifices himself for their planet, she is left confused and deeply sparkbroken, unable to understand why his death devastates her so profoundly. Her partner, Optimus Prime, tries to comfort and soothe her, yet matters worsen when Megatronus Prime revives himself and returns-bringing with him other powerful bots: Megatron, Shockwave, and Soundwave. The Cybertronians are shocked and enraged as their world is once again consumed by war. Starliner's depression and pain disappears, leaving her whole once more. She resumes her role as an elite warrior of the Autobots, battling Megatronus and his force. Amidst the chaos, she discovers unexpected love-and a secret ally-while infiltrating the upgraded Nemesis. Now Starliner finds herself torn between two love interests, neither willing to share her spark.

Galvatron was defeated. The human inhabitants on planet Earth have become a lot less aware of the continued presence of the Transformers. But was it really over? She begins investigating this mysterious circumstance and takes note of a man hidden in the video footage. The same mysterious stranger she saw at her parents' funeral. A man in a fez and a raggedy suit. A man known as the Doctor.
