Ender may have been born in Topside, but after a massacre of her House, she was forced down under. Luckily a younger boy named Ekko finds and saves her. Life is sorting itself out as Ender embraces the art of contortionism and she gains a sort of found family. Then Benzo and Vander die, leaving the Undercity in the hands of Silco, a ruthless man who introduces a euphoric substance called Shimmer. Viktor may have been born in the Undercity, but he has made quite a name for himself in Topside. With his and his partner's discovery of Hextech, they've revolutionized the world. Then Viktor's illness worsens and he's willing to try anything to heal himself. Even dangerous methods. Before the chaos broke free, Ender and Viktor have met before. And even after everything upends itself, they continue to find and support each other. But Viktor finds himself more entangled with the Hextech everyday and soon it starts to physically impact Ender too.
