She was nineteen when the world ended. She was eighty when she finally laid it down. Between those years lived a life no one could erase. In 1829, Sarah Wright was sentenced at Newgate Prison and transported to New South Wales aboard the Lord Sidmouth. Shackled, pregnant, and alone, she enters a world designed to break her. But Sarah does not break. She survives the voyage. She survives the men who would use her. She survives the loss of a child, the lash, the hunger, the grief. She survives love twice. And she builds a family that will carry her name long after she is gone. Beyond the Chains is the sweeping, intimate story of a real woman who refused to be defined by the punishment forced upon her. Through heartbreak, resilience, and fierce devotion to her children, Sarah Wright becomes more than a convict - she becomes a matriarch, a pioneer, and the quiet heart of a legacy. She was my ancestor. Her life was hard. Her life was extraordinary. And now, her story is finally told.

"Everything happened so fast. Shards of glass decorated the floor as if to mimic petals. People at the back of class had a few cuts and bruises but weren't too seriously harmed. The thing that bothered Meghan the most was the screaming. Everyone in the class was screaming and panicking while the teacher struggled to get them in order. She tried to block it all out and focus on what she needed to do as if it was just her siblings getting into an argument at home while she was working on her homework, but it was barely close to working. Meghan stared at what used to be an intact window, to see a big man approximately in his forties staring right at her. She slowly backed away closer to the door but he wouldn't drop his stare. " Don't you ever just want to escape life? Just you can't bring yourself to run away and death is definitely not an option, so you're kind of stuck. You're stuck in this average life with average friends and an average school, the only thing not average is the ridiculously high amount of stress on you to do well. What if there was someone who changed that though? Someone who did what you could never bring yourself to do: run. Meghan was in the middle of a science test, first thing, Monday morning. It was her last test before midterms which were next week. "What is the difference between a cone of depression and subsidence?". That was the question. She was answering that question when her whole life changed juristically. He burst through the window with a gun. Next stop: New York

What is the picture you have of yourself? Everyone has an image of themselves; some keep that picture very private but everyone has one. Can you imagine any circumstance in which you might kill? And if you could, would that necessarily make you a bad person? This is a story of tragedy, friendship, loyalty and enduring devotion; devastating treachery, betrayal, and murder most foul. Propelled by circumstance, John Farrell has to be 'ready for anything'(Utrinque Paratus) as he is taken on a rollercoaster journey from his coalmining community origins in County Durham to Aldershot, the home of the British army, and to war torn Belfast; from London to the poverty ridden streets of Mexico City; from inside the infamous Wormwood Scrubs, to the South of France, to Glasgow, the Scottish Highlands, Berlin and Bangkok. Along the way, influenced by the evil men do, inadvertently it seems, John kills: in desperation, in fear, in anger, in ignorance accidentally. Does that make John Farrell a bad person? You decide! Orphan, boxer, soldier, convict, writer, fighter, loyal friend, protector, loving family man and killer. Killing is something not only evil men do. This is the story of one man's love for his family and the lengths he is prepared to go to safeguard that family. It is about hope, courage and human endurance in the face of adversity. Readers who enjoy a good thriller will love this compelling, character driven, gritty tale, and be able to relate to and empathise with its thoroughly believable if, by necessity, sometimes violent hero.

Carter Maxwell is a former convict who spent 2 years in prison before going off to university in his home town. Making mistakes is what caused him to end up in prison so many times. Now, with the help of a bubbly university girl who's given the task of keeping an eye on him, Carter finally has a guide to show him the way he was meant to go. NOTE: Alright so I started this story when I was 12. I didn't have a very good concept of how college/university is, and I also was a lot worse a writer. I'm not sure, but I might revisit this story and edit it so that it doesn't suck, and actually has some substance to it. For now it's on hold.

Prologue Omar forgot his existence, his eyes had frozen as the brown pupils dilated, his mind had focused entirely on the shadow. A flickering hope in the darkness as the water had coaxed its way towards him …he had struggled with his gait, the insane heart could never be reined. A captive had his own freedom of imagination that no forces could bind. She had tied him down, those eyes had dragged him to the stark reality of his life. Gently stripping him of the only thing he had ever owned, his pride. Today, as his palm withdrew from the fist, he looked at them carefully. The maze of lines had entangled his dreams , his life and even his love. He still remembered the first time he had seen her ….as he closed his eyes …..remembering her first image …it was not a place he would expect to see such a beautiful girl…infact a girl at all….he was not looking forward for anything in life ..till she had stepped in that room …the twilight in his world …her steps ..had changed everything …wish he could have re-winded. As he stared at the only picture that they had clicked together, Tahiras smile her innocence, the sparkle in her eyes. As he saw carefully, they never were a regular couple, they both were on the opposite sides of right and wrong. He smiled looking at his wrists handcuffed together, as memories peeked through his smiles, now entangled with her, a gentle reminder that he would be forever be The Convict.
