The Hokage Monument watched over it all in silent patience, carved into the mountain like eternal guardians. And in the middle of that village, in a small apartment that most people ignored, Naruto Uzumaki opened his eyes before dawn. He always woke early. Not because anyone told him to. Not because he had parents shaking him awake, or a mother calling him down for breakfast, or a father pushing him to train. He woke early because he had decided, long ago, that if he was going to survive in a world that looked at him with cold eyes and whispered voices, then he had to become stronger than their hatred.
