Story Description in the books

In early spring 1928, Emily Atkinson is contacted by her distant male cousin, the one who inherited the Atkinson estate when her parents passed on. He proposes that Emily bring her entire adopted family over to Canada, staff included, for a vacation and to meet what remains of the Atkinson clan and spend time at the old homestead. While many are reluctant to take the trip, both Emily and Marius are pleased to be going home.
