A 14 year old girl named Scarlett barley escapes a Hurd of infected, she finds one of her old classmates from the QZ and they both find a place and settle down. One day they go out to look for supplies, but on their journey they find two stranger cornered with infected. Do they help them? Or do they let them die?

An infection breaks out. Terrifying creatures are spreading put across the entire world. Creatures that were once human. People you used to know, dying by your hands. A world of kill or be killed. Scientists are unable to create a vaccince to save the world. This group is constantly trying to find a vaccine, but they are against the military. You and Levi are against the world due to one incident. The two of you are supposed to find a group of people to create a cure for the world. You have to fight for your dear lives. You are the very cure to humanity. Will you die for the world, or will you save yourself and let humanity fall underneath what was once them? Alright, this is going to be based off of The Last Of Us. If you don't know what that is, you should either play or watch someone else play the game before reading this. It does give major spoilers to the entire game series. Anyway, the infection is cause by a type of fungus called the Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis or Cordyceps for short. Disclaimer, this may have some smut in it!!! Any of the art is not mine, and this will have a lot of angst in it!!! Be warned, and read at your own risk!

Before the world went under, people would refer to BC as "Before Christ." Nowadays, when one hears "BC" they naturally think: "Before Cordyceps." A fungus called Cordyceps mutated a into virus that that grows around the brain of it's host, taking control. It's first victims were the ants, then whoever was unlucky enough to get bitten by an infected one; its viral through bites and bodily fluids. When infected, a person has up to 24 hours before the fungus engulfs the brain, turning them into a walking corpse. Different people have different reactions and "turn" times, depending on their immune systems. Once the fungus takes over, the victim goes rabid, shows severe aggression, loses their humanity/reason, and stops at nothing to sink their teeth into their prey, infecting the victim in the process. To sum it up, they become a cannibalistic monster, unless the brain is destroyed. Cordyceps caught humanity completely off guard, spreading way faster than anticipated and we were not prepared. Now we live off of the leftovers of the BC, wishing we could've stopped it while we had the chance, if any. But how could we have saved the world from itself? Jade White was a sheltered, privelaged "it" girl. Her life was perfect. Was. She had popularity, wealth, and talent, but all of that is useless when it comes to surviving the killers out there, dead or alive. It's survival of the fittest, so she has to become the fittest, with the help of her allies of course. This is her journey. A/N Hi, my name is Hannelore.
