The story is set around Cornwall in England in 1750, and is an epic tale of Kraken's, Celtic ghosts, Sea monsters and a search for a legendary sword that was lost on a shipwreck. A retelling of an old legend from Roche Rock, Cornwall, England, from the 1400s. When a leper named Ogrin seeks refuge in the ruins of a windswept Cornish chapel, the village of Roche largely lets him be. But when a wild-haired girl appears among the granite boulders-barefoot, unblinking, speaking to rooks, and stealing pennyworts off walls-people begin to whisper. She's too strange. Too silent. Too different. They call her Janet. They call her healer. Then they call her witch. No one dares climb the rock - not until a priest is called from Bodmin with scripture, soldiers, and fear in his eyes. But Roche Rock, and the people around it, keep their secrets close, and those who go looking for demons may not like what they find. Set in 15th-century Cornwall and steeped in Gothic atmosphere, The Witch of Roche Rock is a tale of suspicion, superstition, and salvation ... or is it damnation? A retelling of a local legend, this is a short story for lovers of folklore and ghost stories, and tale of tolerance and the importance of accepting others' differences.

The boy is banished to a remote monastery and the girl to a remote Cornish village. The story is gentle and has no excessive dark aspects in it. A quick, easy read.

Tristan thought that he already found love, until the ultimate of betrayal by the one who vowed loving him as who he was, including his scar. And yet it was all a lie. She laid in death bed after birthing, unconsciously admitting her sin. “Oh my God, Ray. It hurts! It hurts so much! Your baby is doing this to me. We should be careful or Tristan will know.” That was she said and Ray was his brother. It made him cold, but one look at the child, he thought of her as his. Would he find a new love? Would the little girl melt the cold in his heart and maybe . . . become the little matchmaker? A historical fiction with pain, betrayal, love, and humor in it.

And honestly, it was the best friendship you could imagine, so our weekend trip to Cornwall to work on a university assignment could only be fun. Right?
