This is NOT a morbid story. Sure the tittle totally sounds morbid, but the title is subject to many many changes, and the whole book shouldn't be summed up by it's title. Sorry but the main character isn't going to die (or not yet that is) This is just a story about how someone who tries so hard for something to be a certain way, but it just turns out to be the opposite (adversity? Challenges?) I don't think I should say toooooo much more before I spoil it all... Oh yeah it also has Star Trek wrapped in it- but I think that even non-Trekkers will enjoy this one :)

A young woman who experienced trauma has retreated into a fantasy world of Ghosts. She builds a Disneyland-like structure within an abandoned Brewery near Skid Row to continue separating from reality. She is being stalked by her attacker, who wants to capture her again and finish what he had started when she was 9. He has staked out Skid Row and its inhabitants as targets of opportunity for his experiments on the best way to murder without getting caught. The young woman is befriended by the DiSilva Family, who help anchor her to the real world, help her overcome her PTSD, and catch her attacker.

Julia meets William. The first of two stories about the beginning of the love affair, the second being Letting Go for Julia. This story became something completely different than originally intended. It was supposed to be later in the series but immediately led me to the very beginning.
